- Finished parts: including CNC machining, cone threads, drill holes, or welding preparation
Materials: 316L, duplex, and special alloys
We use AISI 316L (1.4404) as our standard material – a corrosion-resistant, molybdenum-alloyed stainless steel with excellent media compatibility.
In addition, we also carry out projects with:
- Duplex and super duplex steels for offshore and chloride-contaminated environments
- Nickel-based alloys (e.g., Hastelloy®, Inconel®) for extreme temperatures and aggressive media
- Titanium pipes for cryogenic or high-purity applications
- Special alloys in accordance with NACE MR0175 or ISO 15156 for hydrogen and hydrogen sulfide environments
Our materials warehouse contains more than 1,500 items, ensuring fast availability and the shortest possible delivery times – even for demanding material combinations.
High-pressure stainless steel pipe: advantages and technical features
High-pressure stainless steel tubes offer decisive advantages over conventional pipe types—especially when high demands are placed on pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, and service life. Interalloy supplies only seamless high-pressure tubes that are cold-drawn or cold-redrawn under controlled conditions—a guarantee for maximum safety, repeatability, and performance.
Corrosion and temperature resistance
Our stainless steel pipes are ideal for aggressive and extremely high-temperature media – whether in chemical process engineering, offshore applications, or cryogenic processes:
- Temperature range: –252 °C to +649 °C
- Resistant to: Chlorides, acids, alkalis, salt water, oil, and gases
- Suitable for: High-temperature pipes, nitrogen and hydrogen systems
With materials such as 316L, duplex, or nickel-based alloys, we also meet requirements in highly corrosive environments, such as those found in seawater desalination or H₂ distribution networks.
Seamless manufacturing for maximum safety
Seamless high-pressure pipes eliminate the risk of weld seam failure—an essential factor for systems with high pressure and dynamic loads. Our manufacturing technology enables us to achieve:
- Uniform material structure, free of weld burrs or cavities
- Increased fatigue strength, especially under alternating pressure loads
- Precise inner surfaces, ideal for hydraulic fluids and media with high viscosity
Depending on the application, autofrettage can also be used to strengthen the inner wall by prestressing it – a proven method for increasing fatigue strength in high-pressure applications.
High-pressure tube applications in industry and research
Our high-pressure tubes are used wherever reliability under extreme conditions is required – whether in industrial series production, plant engineering, or highly specialized research environments. The combination of material expertise, pressure resistance, and precise manufacturing makes our high-pressure tubes an indispensable component in critical systems.
Hydraulics, water jet cutting, and cleaning systems
In industrial practice, high-pressure tubes are used in the following areas, among others:
- Hydraulic systems and pressure test benches – for fluids up to 4,140 bar
- Water jet cutting machines – especially with cone & thread connections at up to 60,000 psi
- High-pressure cleaning – e.g., in the food and pharmaceutical industries
Precise matching to the pressure class and medium minimizes leakage risks and extends service intervals – decisive criteria for operators of plants with continuous 24/7 operation.
Hydrogen infrastructure up to 1,000 bar
The hydrogen economy is a promising growth area – both in the mobile and stationary sectors. High-pressure pipes are used here in the following areas in particular:
- Fuel station infrastructure: H₂ filling lines with up to 1,000 bar
- Compact modules and dispenser systems
- Electrolyzers and storage solutions
Our high-pressure stainless steel pipes meet the technical requirements for embrittlement resistance, gas tightness, and media purity – with ISO 15156 (NACE) approval for H₂ safety on request.

How to choose the right high-pressure pipe
The selection of a suitable high-pressure pipe depends on several factors—in addition to the operating pressure, the medium, temperature, environmental influences, and installation conditions are also decisive. We support you in configuring the optimal product for your application—from the prototype phase to series production.
Correctly designing pressure, medium, and environment
The following criteria should be taken into account when planning your high-pressure line:
- Maximum system pressure including safety margin (according to ASME/EN/ISO)
- Medium properties: corrosive, explosive, viscous, gaseous, etc.
- Temperature range – especially for cryogenic or thermally cyclic applications
- External environment: humidity, salt water, UV, chemical exposure
- Installation situation: bending radii, vibration load, installation space
Based on this information, we will help you select the material, dimensions, machining, and accessories – technically coordinated and economically sensible.
